A native of South Louisiana infused with a strong Cuban heritage, Ali has a talent for creating stories that interweave drama with the humor that occurs in everyday life. The axiom "truth is stranger than fiction" comes to mind when she tells how she summons story ideas. Whether it be sitting at a cafe listening to wisps of conversations floating about or merely walking down the street and watching an event unfold, everything is fair fodder for this writer's imagination.
