Jesting Season

By ArdentTly (Trish Shields)

violas, day lilies, gladiolas
whisper in my yard
rumours that spring
still holds us tight abound

stars bristling on cool nights
glare down from on high
their position shifting savoured
to reflect the jesting season

tis spring mayhap fall
but summer solstice
has come and gone
and still we curry its favour
