Your image lives with me
Forever imprinted in my memories
To never be forgotten

I remember the way you first looked at me
With trusting eyes and an open heart
You welcomed me to be yours

The way you knew when I needed a silent companion
To rest my head against and not feel alone
To feel your heart beat along with mine

I could run my hands through your hair
Knowing you enjoyed it so
By the smile you gave me

Knowing time was coming near
To lose you from my world
Not from my heart

Looking at you slip away
Forever to be far from me
But never distant from my memories
