Interview with T. Stratton

As I have stated many times you never know what kind of answers you will get from this group we
call the SandBox. I am sitting here reading these following answers and come to realize this actually give you the reader a look into who we are and how we see things in our lives. So without any explanation I will let T show you some of her questions.

And T thank you for taking the time out to answer these, A&F Wizz

1.) How long have you been writing creative fiction?
Several years now.

2.) What is your favorite fan fiction story you have written and why?
The Protect series.... To Protect And Serve was my first story posted so it will always be my fav.

3. A) What got you interested in Xena and writing fan fiction?
I saw a little paragraph in a TV guide explaining the episode One Against An Army and thought it sounded interesting and from that moment I was hooked and never looked back. I started writing fan fiction when a few stories started to pop in my head and wouldn’t let me sleep.

3.B) How has Xena changed your life?
Xena has changed my life in a very drastic way. It has brought people into my life that I will never forget and love very much and I know if I had not started writing then none of it would have happened.

4.) What colors ur tooth brush?
Blue and gray

5.) If you could be any super hero who would you be and why?
Not sure I want to be a super hero.... I would like to just be able to me myself without hurting anyone….

6.) Do you wipe with your right hand or left or do you use toilet paper
Personnel question, but if it is asked I guess I should answer.... right

7.) Why and when did you start writing?
Started several years ago and why.... because stories wouldn’t leave me alone and wanted to be put on paper…

8.) What’s ur bra size?
44 DD

9.) How do you have time to WRITE so many stories at once?
I use to have all the time in the world.... but not any more and I find it very hard to find time to write... but I do have the third part of the protect series started and hope to have it finished for the sandboxes first anniversary...

10.) How do you get your inspiration?
It depends... like I said a story just pops in and stays until I write it down... but if I write something for someone else I could just be sitting in my car doing nothing when WHAMMM it hits me and I know that I must write it down...those are the most important things I post since I say what I want to whoever it is for...

11.) What kind of underoo's do you wear?
Hanes... granny panties… or at least that is what I have been told they call them... but they are comfy and that is all that matters to me

12.) How long have you been writing?
Several years

13.) What story/series are you most proud of?
The Protect series

14.) Do you get hate mail and how do you handle those?
Depends on what is said... if they are nasty to me believe me I will be just as nasty but if they say what they need to say polite I will thank them for their honesty and try to do better

15.) How about do you get any HATE mail from readers?
Got a couple…

16.) What's the best piece of advice you got when you were starting out as a writer?
Don’t remember getting any...

17.) How do you lay out your stories?
I don’t... I usually just have a beginning and if I am lucky I an ending I want to shoot for…and then I just start typing and off it goes…

18.) Do you have an ending before you start writing, or does it reveal itself to you as you write?
Depends ... sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t

19.) How do you get beyond just an idea?
Just start typing and see what happens... usually a story will appear before your eyes

20.) How does an idea become a story?
Like I said... I start typing and off it goes... most of the times I don’t even have a name for the main characters

21.) What suggestions do you have for creating self-discipline at writing? When you feel the urge to write do so... never force yourself because it won’t be up to what you want... it will just pacify you as something one paper… let your emotions go off sometimes... it is one of the greatest forms of release you will ever find...

22.) Which story/series has gotten the most response from fans?
The Protect series and Raging Horses

23.) Do you like to write X&G stories or uber/original stories better?
I do uber’s... but have wanted to do a X&G story but nothing has popped in as of what kind…

24.) Do you envision a story before you write it, or does the story just un-fold as you write it?
Little of both sometimes, nothing at all and then sometimes I can see the place they have their first kiss or the first time they make love...

25.) When you've finished with the story/book do you miss those characters that you've written about?
Sometimes I do and if I’m having trouble with a story I am glad to be done with it

26.) Do you or do you not wear underwear? If so what kind?
Always do... unless in the shower and Hanes

27.) If you could have dinner with anyone who would it be and why?
G... because


Who is your favorite Xmen???

Who is your favorite super hero of all times...IE....batman, superman, wonder woman?? Atom

Years from now, how would you want to be remembered? Just to be remembered would be good

What is your pet peeve? People who intentionally hurt others

What advice can you give to future writers? Trust your self and it doesn’t matter if someone doesn’t like it... as long as you like it since writing is first and foremost for yourself…

What has the show Xena meant to you? The show has meant a lot... it has brought a lot of good people in my life

What are your dreams? Hopes? Wishes? To be myself

What is a necessity for every writer in your opinion? Dictionary.... because spelling can be such a bitch

What's your favorite quote? Why and how does it affect you? Don’t have one…

What makes your best friend your best friend? My best friend is my best friend because she just is… she cannot be replaced

Who is your real life hero and why? Don’t have one

Why do fools fall in love? Fools aren’t the only ones that fall in love. It just might seem that way.... You can’t help it when suddenly it hits you and all you can do is sit back and watch.... and all you want to do is scream at the top of your lungs. I LOVE YOU… for the world to hear. That alone can make you seem like a fool.

When did you first know you wanted to be a writer? Several years ago when I started writing fan fiction.... Otherwise I hated it.... my English teacher would scream at me to write more than a line or two for an essay… needless to say I barely passed that class

What significance, if any, is there in the title? For me it means the whole story...

Can you see the book as a feature film? I can see Raging Horses or To Protect And Serve as a movie… that would be way cool....

What vices or rituals, if any, do you have and how do they affect your writing? None at all…

Are you easily distracted by big breastesses????? Could be…...

Have you ever had a serious case of writer's block? Heck yes and it drove me insane…

How do you get over it? I didn’t write anything at all… until I could tell I was ready and then all was good

Tammy......I'm assuming I have the right idea (I think) maybe????

1. What writer do you most compare yourself too or whom do you model yourself after? No one…

2. What writer influenced you the most? none

3. What is essential to you in your surroundings when you are writing? i.e.: music playing, incense, candles lit, food/drink, smoke pot??? Doesn’t really matter to me.... No pot smoking for sure thought.... The first time nearly killed me so.... STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS!!

4. Is your aim when writing to keep it strictly as literature or do you have goals for screenplays/motion pictures?
Literature. But I would love to see a few stories on screen

5. What is the best laid plan when writers block hits? NEVER PUSH YOURSELF!!! The flow will come back just take your time.... maybe get a fresh piece of paper and start to doodle and see what happens

6. If you could interview/talk to any author (dead or alive) who would it be and why? None.

7. What are your other artistic interests? Drawing....painting.... have not done either in a long while

8. Are you easily distracted when writing? Not really.

9. Do you prefer to be alone when writing? Nope.... could write in a crowded bar if I had too

10. Do you have a set time that you write (a.m. or p.m.) or when time permits? Nope…

Ummmmmmmm… boy you have some interesting questions and I have never thought about that... so I will just say corn

One question would be where do they get the inspiration (for your stories) for all of that when writing a sex scene?
Depends on the story. It could be a way for me to show the reader the love the characters have for each other. Also my dreams… that is one of the biggest inspiration

Ask them what made them first begin to write and not exactly how they felt about it, but what keeps them going?
Have answered about what made me start, but what keeps me going. That depends on what time of day or what kind of day I am having. Could be because I want true love to be shining or maybe sadness or whatever emotion is flowing at the moment...

15. Did you ever think there were people out in the world just as twisted as you? I knew there had to be… just took me awhile to find them

16. Who is YOUR favorite author? Several.... and I won’t list them because if I forget someone I would feel really bad…

17. Do you ever think, by the far stretch of the imagination, there possibly, somewhere out there, could probably, maybe be people out in the world just as twisted as you? Yes

18. Boxers or briefs? Never tried Boxers but have heard they are way comfy….

19. How do you (the writer) deal with the feedback you receive? Answer every single mail and say thanks for reading…

20. Is the genre that you write most in, such as mystery, romance
Etc....Romance I guess with a twist of action

21. The genre that you read most in? Fan fiction and it doesn’t matter what kind

22. Have you ever written outside your comfort zone? No.... But may give it a shot at some point to see what happens

---How much of the bard's own personal life experiences and worldview enter their characters and story? My life is soo not that exciting so everything is made up

---when one gets 'stuck' on a storyline, how does one get out of the rut? Just take my time and see what happens

---what got them started writing fiction? Xena

---When they write, are they moved by what they create, or do they view it dispassionately? When I wrote the ending to Protect My Heart I cried like a baby.... was very shocked by this

---is there a particular time of day or environment in which they feel most creative? Nope

---is (are) there a particular work of fiction which had a profound impact upon them as a youngster? Whom do they particularly admire? None

---how crazy or unrestrained do they allow themselves to get when writing? Do they discipline themselves, or just 'let go'? I just let it go to see what happens

---is there a particular piece of work that they cringe at having posted, or had totally bomb (often, much to their surprise)? Yes, Breaking The Silence

---is there anything that they'd never write? Can’t think of anything right now

---have they written a story that got an unexpected response from readers either for good or, er, bad?

If you had to tell anyone about yourself on what type a person you are what would you say? I tried to answer this one, but kept deleting what I had so I will just leave it unanswered… because I am just me.... what you see if what you get and if you don’t like it.... I don’t really care....

If some one asked you a question on how they could get stated writing what would you tell them? Just start… grab a paper and a pen or get on the pc and just start.

Some serious stuff I would love to hear about is how often do the authors write? Daily or? shit I am lucky if I can do one page a week… hell a month

Where or what were some of the funniest things to happen that gave them inspiration for their stores and what was it? Ummmmmmmm.... no clue

Are they pet lovers? Heck yes.... I would own a zoo if I could

If so what kind of pets do they have? One Black lab named Reagan and several fish…

Author’s of a story wants feed back but 5 out of 10 never bother’s to write u back. Why? No clue... wish they would…

Why don't folks finish their stories? Life jumps in and sometimes a story gets left behind

Say someone has an idea for a story but they can't write worth a damned would one of you writer’s consider writing it, where u get the credit for the writing but give credit to the person who sent u the idea?  If someone asked me to write a story with their story idea I would most certainly give them credit. It is only right to do that… and I would if someone asked me too....

3. How do you choose your characters? They scream at me.... and say use me use me

4. How do you handle it when a reader asks why you used a certain plot device? Never been asked that and if I was I would just say because I felt that is what the story needed and if they disagreed I would say that’s fine.... but my story

internet? So people can read them

6. Have you ever thought about writing outside your
comfort zone? If so what?

I'd ask....When do you finally feel comfortable turning
your stories loose on the public. LOL it still makes me nervous when I post. When I think it is done.... I don’t get nervous posting any more.... I did for the first one and after that it is a breeze for me.
