It is not often in life you come across a friend who is true to you no matter what life throws at you. So I want to share the interview I did with Shadylady.... she is a special person in my life as well as our web wench. There is another side to her that ya won’t see here. I can only wish some day some of you will see the Shadylady I have come to know and respect.

Shady, we have fought like cats n dogs, we have stood side by side when the fight knocks on our door and we have shared laughter with road trips and booze. But tell me why it is Mt. St. Helens blows her stack every time we get together or plan too???

So without anything else let the fun begin....this was done over several months

Shadylady (9:31:45 PM): Well, I must admit that I love the leopard bra but it was too small to hold me comforably, so instead it is draped over the TV sitting here at my desk to keep me focused on what I want to do with the erotic scenes

Shadylady (9:34:52 PM): Funny thing about my writing. Most of the time I must have absolute silence with nothing distracting me. Then there are other times that I actually write while I am in conversation with another person - I guess I don't have a particular environment to be creative. I have written while sitting in meetings and in the middle of the airport waiting on a flight

Shadylady (9:39:49 PM): No but they had a wholesome way of writing that made you feel like it could have been the family next door kind of folk

wizzy44tc (9:44:47 PM): If Shadylady ask her what made her first begin to write and not exactly how she feels about it, but what keeps her going, I mean she has written more stories in a shorter period of time than anyone of us, what's the deal with that??

Shadylady (9:46:23 PM): I first began writing on a dare; I never thought that I could ever get anything down that would make sense but had a lot of encouragement
Shadylady (9:47:17 PM): I finished my first story because I am not a quitter and I had a lot of my on line friends asking me when I was going to be done.
Shadylady (9:47:46 PM): I continue to write because it gives me pleasure to do so. I love to see the images in my mind, evolve onto paper

Shadylady (9:48:37 PM): That made it all the more special because I really finished only to show that I could

Shadylady (9:49:04 PM): Getting number one validated that maybe what I write does give entertainment to some readers

Shadylady (9:49:14 PM): no mistake about that

Shadylady (9:50:47 PM): I love laughter and knew that I wanted to have humor in what ever I wrote. Living in the south made it easy to come up with some of the sayings and the antics that happen in the story. I have a tendency to include facts imbedded within the story of antics that I have been involved in or witnessed among my friends
Shadylady (9:52:12 PM): I have to admit that it is rare that I actually have a story or plot in mind when I start writing. I simply let the scenes and action evolve as I write. Sometimes I have started with a title but most of the time; I write and later decide what to call it

Shadylady (10:04:48 PM): writers block - I am not sure that I have ever run across that yet, instead I switch stories frequently and start new ones. This means that I will have dead spots with a particular story that I will come back to later but I have never stopped writing as I simply start another story if the one I am working on seems to be on hold in my mind

Shadylady (10:08:23 PM): Not really, I prefer to do it directly on the computer. I have written on the back of handouts in meetings and I did write the Traveler in a notebook. All the rest I type right into the computer

wizzy44tc (10:09:01 PM): Do you ever think, by the far stretch of the imagination, there possibly, somewhere out there, could probably, maybe be people out in the world just as twisted as you?
wizzy44tc (10:09:19 PM): In your opinion is Popeye equivalent to Hercules? Does the myth/legend over lap...is that were Hercules came from....the Popeye Sailor?

Shadylady (10:11:47 PM): Yes there are definitely people in the world just as twisted as me or I would not be answering these questions. In fact, I have the honor of having some great friends that are just as twisted as I am. Sometimes I consider myself the less twisted of the group.
Shadylady (10:13:57 PM): With respect to Popeye and Hercules - of course Herc came first since he is from mythology and Popeye is from cartoons. I don't recall ever seeing Hercules eat spinach so there is no connection between the characters other than brute strength. Personally Kevin Sorbo is much better looking than Popeye.

I am tied up only by answering these questions at this time. So maybe my definition is slightly different than yours for "hooked up, tied up and twisted up"

Shadylady (10:23:55 PM): I would move to an island surrounded by all the luxuries I want and only invite the people I want to deal with to come see me - I would cocoon myself away and do only what I wanted, when I wanted

Shadylady (10:31:05 PM): It has not been a single handed effort; it has taken the dedication of a lot of women to gather together the writers that we have
wizzy44tc (10:31:40 PM): give credit where credit is due, you’re the reason we have this play ground
Shadylady (10:32:22 PM): I knew that we had a concept of what we wanted the SandBox to be. It was to give writers a fun place to post their writing without worrying about whether anyone else approved of it or not
Shadylady (10:32:49 PM): it was to allow those who would like to have a site but didn't know how to get one to have a place to post
Shadylady (10:33:20 PM): I know but without the back end support of each of you, we would not be where it is today
Shadylady (10:33:39 PM): I am lucky that I learn by reading and doing or I would be in trouble
Shadylady (10:34:47 PM): What I have learned is not perfect and probably is going about it in the most difficult way of all, but it is providing us with what we want and a look we like

Shadylady (10:45:43 PM): yes I will never write scenes involving children or animals in sexual context

wizzy44tc (10:46:16 PM): When you write, are you moved by what you create, or do you view it dispassionately?
Shadylady (10:48:05 PM): I am very moved by what I write in all that I write. I have mood stories that I have written that reflect the moods that I am in at a particular time in my life. I write comedy that has me rolling on the floor. I never view any of my own or anyone else's work dispassionately for in that piece of work I read lies someone else’s hard work

wizzy44tc (10:48:31 PM): How much of the bard's own personal life experiences and worldview enter their characters and story?

Shadylady (10:51:15 PM): It totally depends on what I am writing. I have so much empathy with my friends that sometimes their situation leads me into what I write

Shadylady (10:52:57 PM): I don't think that I really write about my own life but at times write about real incidents in my life

wizzy44tc (10:53:28 PM): yet there are parts of your life in them as well if the reader knew you as I do
Shadylady (10:53:34 PM): I tend to shield the real person I am and elaborate on the parts that I want to share

wizzy44tc (10:54:07 PM): I wish the reader could know the Shadylady as I do

Shadylady: to remember that writers write because they enjoy being creative but it takes feedback to keep the desire to write alive. As a fan I would encourage you to write to your writers and give them feedback on what is good and what could be better. I never worry about whether it is positive

Shadylady: I am one of the lucky ones that thinks in a sequential order. When I write, it is rare that I have to do much editing other than minor grammatical errors. I see a story in my mind, and I am lucky that I can also find the words to put on paper to make that story come alive
