ALI VALI - Gillery's Little Secret
I am sure some of you have heard about this new film being made of Gillery’s Little Secret. But we are excited to have a little history behind the film. Here you will get an inside look as to how this all came about! I am honored and excited for Ali and this new project! So take it away my dear friend.......Wizz In January of 2001, I decided to take a chance and do something that frankly, was a little daunting. I posted “To Capture a Heart,” the first story in the Nile series, having really no idea of what to expect. Well, that was four years ago and the readers’ response to the stories is the one aspect that is still amazing to me. After that first one, there have been plenty more and they have brought me a slew of new friends, who I hear from often, and new opportunities. “Gillery’s Little Secret” (GLS) and the chance to work on the screenplay grew from a few emails I had exchanged with T.M. Scorzafava after something I had posted. As a major part of Liquid Filmworks, she wanted something different from the usual gay oriented film, something that had never been done on the screen before and took a chance on me to write it. That put no pressure on me whatsoever let me tell you. <g> It took me awhile to start formulating a story, then as usual, in the most unlikeliest of places, I got the idea for GLS. I was sitting on I-10 in New Orleans in major traffic when Gillery Poiencot was born. The original short story I wrote was something T.M. wanted to work with and it was transformed into a screenplay so we could then go through the editing phase. All in all it was a fun process that taught me a lot about the power of words and how best to use them. Once the screenplay was done, T.M. went to work on the locations, crew and cast. It sounds like a short easy list, but trust me, she worked her butt off making sure everything was perfect. The line up staring with Annabeth Gish as Gillery, to me was more than spectacular. T.M. did a great job from the beginning and it was through her hard work and tenacity that this project happened at all. In one of our phone conversations she told me how great the response was for this project. Most of the cast was on board from the first time they read the script and want to still be involved when the feature is made. From the updates I’ve sent out, the most frequently asked question is “What’s it about?” And there’s noting I’d love more than to tell you, but T.M. would then hire someone to kill me. I think that was on page two of my contract actually. It’s a surprise that I’m hoping everyone will enjoy more if it stays a surprise until they see the finished product. As to when you’ll get to see the finished product I’m thinking it will be sometime in the fall. They’re editing now and T.M. is hoping to debut it at Sundance and some of the other film festivals, so if you live close, please go out and vote. For that schedule as well as anything else happening with the project I promise to pass along the information as I get it. Thanks for letting me share all the exciting news about GLS and the ongoing process. This and some other projects I have in the works have been good therapy in the last month in keeping my mind occupied. My mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer and just last week underwent surgery. Cancer always comes a shock to everyone it touches and in this case it’s no different, but above all else, mom is a strong woman and we’re doing our part to help her through the next phase of treatment. If you all would, please mention her in the next little prayer you say – it all helps believe me. Her message to everyone is to make sure you all are schedule for a mammogram, especially if you have a family history of the disease. Before that make sure you are all doing self-breast exam. Again thank you all for letting me ramble on. The main thing, like I said, I never expected when I started writing was the response of the readers. Every note of encouragement and thanks you have sent is something I treasure. Ali

I got this in a email it is about the film and who is staring in it....this is from T.M. Scorzafava director/producer of Gillery’s Little Secret....I just hope she wont be to upset with me for using this in this ramble. But this helps to get you all excited about this new film. We will keep you posted as to when the release date gets closer! As always thanks for stopping and shopping with the SandBox101. Wizz We are thrilled to announce that the short film, "Gillery's Little Secret" has wrapped on principle photography! A wonderfully stylish story about love and forgiving one's self for past mistakes while embracing lost relationships and finding home again. Mother Nature threw us some curve balls and poor Annabeth developed a massive head cold but we prevailed! Annabeth Gish transforms into Gillery Poiencot, exchanging lovable onscreen moments with her girlfriend, Abbie, played by Julie Anne Emery who stimulated the chemistry. When confronted by her past love, Bernadette Smith, performed to perfection by Allison Smith and queried by Blake, played by up and coming Jeanette Brox, Annabeth reveals another set of emotions to draw us in even further. The crew watched with anticipation from the sidelines. The performances brought touching tears, grins as big as the sun and wonderment as the actors brought the story to life. The energy on set was high with everyone working like a well-oiled machine. The ultimate goal is to make the feature version. Until that time, we're focused on entering the short into the festival circuit, hoping for acceptance first into Sundance followed by whatever may come. Once the official web site is up I'll send you a link to pass along. It will feature a trailer, photography from the production, bio's, synopsis and information on how you can be a part of the revolution.
