Interview with Hunnybakedham

Introduction by Shadylady:

Hunnybakedham is a new writer that brings a certain "quirkiness" to the site for the entertainment of the readers.  Enjoy her interview and then get busy sending her "hate" mail to write us more of her stories.  She is good and we need to see more of her work to keep us going.

Shadylady.....

From Wizz and Shadylady:

1.) How long have you been writing creative fiction?
Not very long at all, maybe a few months at the most. What can I say, I’m a late bloomer (27).

2.) What is your favorite fan fiction story you have written and why?
Well I have only written one so I am a little biased.

3.) What got you interested in Xena and writing fan fiction.
Xena? What a stupid question, a hot chick in leather running around with her sword and cute blonde girlfriend, like I was going to miss that.  As for fanfic, I just stumbled onto it by accident really.

4.) How has Xena changed your life?
I would be a whole lot wealthier if it wasn’t for Xena. It cost me a fortune to buy all the VHS tapes, then I just had to have the new Special Collectors Edition DVD Box sets didn’t I, You know the really shmick ones from Anchor Bay. They are so not cheap for us Aussies.

5.) What colors ur tooth brush?
Bright orange with a really freaky ribbed bit on the back of the head to scrub your tongue.

6.) If you could be any super hero who would you be and why?
Inspector Gadget. Cool new gizmo’s to play with and a smart sidekick to do all the real work.

7.) Do you wipe with your right hand or left or do you use toilet paper
I use the most expensive toilet paper money can buy; you have to look after your fun parts.

8.) Why and when did you start writing?
After reading some hideous tripe (No I will not name names) I figured anyone can write that god-awful crud, I could do it too.

9.) How do you get your inspiration?
Everyday life and the crazy people who are close to me, almost everything in The Kissing Bandit has happened either to me, someone I know or a friend of a friend.

10.) Do you get hate mail and how do you handle those?
Touch wood, I haven’t had any yet.  Nope, unless you count JLNicky threatening to beat me with a club if I don’t write faster…

11.) What's the best piece of advice you got when you were starting out as a writer?
To ask for help if you need it, and to be a little more organized than I am used to.

12.) How do you lay out your stories?
Errrm, layout? Nah where’s the fun in that

13.) Do you have an ending before you start writing, or does it reveal itself to you as you write?
Nope, I know where the story is going as well as you do……… They lead I just follow along and write it out.

14.) How do you get beyond just an idea?
By letting it play out like a movie, rearranging scenes that don’t look and sound right.   I find just letting my characters talk and interact. I know I need medication for the voices in my head.

15.) What suggestions do you have for creating self-discipline at writing?
Have someone threaten bodily harm occasionally, and a good supply of caffeine and cigarettes. Works for me.

16.) Which story/series has gotten the most response from fans?
My only one, and it has been all good no-one hates it yet.

17.) Do you like to write X&G stories or uber/original stories better?
Uber all the way, so much more freedom, besides you cant really beat the original can you, like Madonna re-doing American Pie…… Ugggghh, what the hell was she thinking?

18.) Do you envision a story before you write it, or does the story just un-fold as you write it?
I can see bits and pieces, but never the whole story. It’s more fun just seeing where it will take me.

19.) When you've finished with the story/book do you miss those characters that you've written about?
I don’t know yet, but I think I will. They become a huge part of your thought process, so yeah I know I will miss them when I’m done.

20.) If you could have dinner with anyone who would it be and why?
Hmmmmm I would have to say the Pope. I am of the firm belief that he really died in the 80’s and was replaced by an animatronic puppet…. I wanna know if I was right….. I might hit him up about some ‘inconsistencies’ in the bible as well…

21.) Who is your favorite Xmen???
Always had a soft spot for Storm.

22.) Who is your favorite super hero of all times?...IE...batman, superman, wonder woman??
Rainmaker from the Gen13 graphic novel’s (Only kid’s collect comics, adults buy graphic novels)

23.) Years from now, how would you want to be remembered?
How morbid, I think maybe just being remembered would be enough.

24.) What is your pet peeve?
Cheap toilet paper, flat coke, staunch Catholics and people with no sense of humour

25.) What advice can you give to future writers?
Just do it! There is plenty of absolute shite out there, your either going to add to it or do something better.

26.) What is a necessity for every writer in your opinion?
Coke, nicotine, a thesaurus, and someone who likes what you have done and believes you should continue

27.) What's your favorite quote? Why and how does it affect you?
Easy, Monty Python and the Holy Grail: “We are the Knights who say ‘Ni’!” No matter how many times I hear it, it makes me smile and I think that’s important .

28.) What makes your best friend your best friend?
The fact that we can argue with each other till we are blue in the face about anything and everything, then we can swap sides of the argument and continue arguing that were are 100% right even though we have switched sides halfway through.

29.) Who is your real life hero and why?
A hard one indeed, I don’t really know how to answer it. There are people who do some incredible things out there, but I think I am most impressed by those who are brave enough to believe in dragons……………

30.) Why do fools fall in love?
Because we cant help it.

31.) When did you first know you wanted to be a writer?
I don’t…… Im 27 and still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, I’m still stuck on being an astronaut or maybe a pirate or firewoman or ………………………………..

32.) Can you see the book as a feature film?
Hell yeah, that’s how I see it when I write it. Any offers????

Asking for a kick in the right direction from the right person.

36.) What’s your bra size???
Sport’s Bras and crop tops all the way baby, not an under wire to be found, in a size 14c

37.) What writer do you most compare yourself too or whom do you model yourself after?

Coke and Cigarettes with the door to my Den of Darkness closed and locked

40.) Is your aim when writing to keep it strictly as literature or do you have goals for screenplays/motion pictures?

By harassing other writers for help. (Play the newbie card!)

H.G. Wells, I’d like to know if he is disappointed in modern society, he had such grand dreams for the future…

I have a few actually. Musically I play bass guitar and the drums, I also make money on the side drawing nudes in charcoal and flogging them off at markets

44.) Are you easily distracted when writing?
Hell yeah

45.) Do you prefer to be alone when writing.
I have to be alone, or I will get too distracted.

46.) Do you have a set time that you write (a.m. or p.m.) or when time permits?
Mostly after midnight in the wee hours of the morning

Tina Stratton.....

47.) Do ideas just pop up or do you hear something or see something and think.... hey that would work?
That sums it up nicely!

ANNE....

48.) "What would you never ever ever write about?"
I don’t think I could stomach writing anything graphic about kids being abused; there is enough of it in the real world.

49.) "If you had the to bring Xena back from the dead AGAIN, how would you do it?"
Palm it off to a God to fix, maybe on of the Celtic gods for a change (besides she didn’t kill them all off like the Greeks)

50.) "What's the most original way in which you ever killed a red shirt?"
I haven’t had too yet! If I ever feel my inner Trekkie wanting to write a story I will find a great way of killing off a dozen or so I’m sure, possibly an engineering accident where they……………………………

51.) "If you could any kind of vegetable, what would you be?"
Eeeew, I’m a grown up now and still wont touch the nasty things, can I be a Twinkie instead? They sound like much more fun

JLNICKY....USE THESE AT YOUR DISCRETION........

You would not catch me wearing them dead and in my coffin, my corpse would refuse.

Choc chip cookie dough

58.) Have you ever had Wild Turkey AND Bourbon in the same night? If so, who held your head over the porcelain goddess?
No, but I did drink 21 beer’s and 21 shots at my 21st birthday and was drunk for the next 2 days and you really don’t want to know what I did in the beer garden with a red head and a brunette…………

59.) Do you ever think, by the far stretch of the imagination, there possibly, somewhere out there, could probably, maybe be people out in the world just as twisted as you?
Yep, your one of em.

Boxer shorts, the tight ones by Mossimo or Calvin Klein preferably. Comfy…..  Commando is only for the two days before washing day.

I try and contain by happy little ego dance and write back. Being friendly and polite never hurt anyone…

62.) How much of the bard's own personal life experiences and worldview enter their characters and story?
Almost all of it

63.) When they write, are they moved by what they create, or do they view it dispassionately?
I think you have to feel what your writing…… well I do anyway.

Not really, I have been known to read the instructions inside the tampon box when desperate for something to read, thank god for high speed internet.

I really didn’t expect anyone to read The Kissing Bandit let alone find it funny and like it…… It still surprises me, I just wrote it because it kept bugging me.
